Produced in association with Shine Global, Dancing in Jaffa follows Palestinian dance instructor Pierre Dulaine as he returns home to Jaffa, Israel to partner Jewish, Muslim, and Christian children in a dance competition.WHAT OCCURS IS MAGICAL AND TRANSFORMATIVE.

Ballroom dance teaches life skills: etiquette, self-esteem, discipline, and confidence. Most importantly, it teaches self-respect and respect for your partner. When Pierre started the program, the children were spitting on each other. At the end of 10 weeks, they were holding each other and respecting each other.

Pierre believes if we can change the children, we can change the future.

We have the ability to touch thousands of lives with this film and convert old conversations into new partnerships and community. Although the film takes place in Jaffa, racism, hatred and prejudice are global issues. This is a film about the power of art in a community with deep-seated resentment and prejudice.

It is a story of defying expectations and believing that we are all capable of change.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Hilla Medalia, Produced by Diane Nabatoff and Neta Zwebner-Zaibert, and Executive Produced by Morgan Spurlock.

As a Kickstarter campaign, this project will only be funded if at least $35,000 is pledged by Monday Dec 17, 3:19pm EST – so don’t wait and help finish this wonderful film!
